App platform for iOS (2008)

  • Client:
    libsyn (2010-13)

This is the original iOS app designed in 2008 It was in service until 2013, when it was redesigned… by me. One of the libsyn service tiers allows podcasters to create apps for their show, on apple, android and recently the windows platforms.  It has been my responsibility to create and upkeep, a user interface that would be useful to ALL of our users and their shows.  The app interface has been somewhat challenging, as libsyn has audio podcasters, video podcasts, and also those that do both types of episodes, while also adding text posts between.  The app allows the show producer a lot of flexibility in regard to how much content is available at certain levels.  Because the apple version is oldest, it offers the most capabilities, while android follows – offering most of the same capabilities as iOS, and windows is new and is not quite as developed, offering basic usability.

There are currently 497 apps listed on iTunes, 698 apps in the Amazon store,  670 apps for in the Windows store;  ranging in price from free to $5.99.
